Clara at 33 months
Clara is 33 months old!
Clara has become increasingly independent. She can undress herself (and now has to place her own dirty laundry in the basket). She intermittently wants to use the potty and refuses to have diapers on (just undies) but like a passing fad she switches back into wanting diapers within the same day. She is increasingly helpful around the house (when she wants to be). She was thrilled to get a "big elmo" for Christmas and he goes every where with her--sometimes she wears him in her Ergo Carrier (cutest "toy" ever, looks just like the real thing). She feeds him and tucks him in at bedtime. She even puts him on the potty!
Her attention span is improving. She now can watch videos for a longer period of time (but is still not permitted to watch more than one episode of Dora or Elmo's world per day). She spends most of her day assembling legos, drawing, reading, and dressing her dolls. She will occasionally feel like working on her Thomas the Tank puzzle (it's 21 pieces--more than she is use to). In addition to preschool two mornings per week, she'll continue in her "ballet" classes and story time at the library. She goes for a walk daily (now using her new Ergo carrier, or sometimes her toy stroller) with Jason and Calem. She continues to have a good appetite and sleeps very well (one 2 to 3 hour nap and sleeps at least 12 hours at night, often without interruption--although sometimes will have a nightmare).
Clara increasingly enjoys singing. According to her preschool teacher, while typically quiet and shy at school she was the only one in her class who was (loudly) and happily singing the Christmas carols for their Christmas show.
She is very much looking forward to her birthday in a few months with the recent passing of her younger brother's birthday--so much so that she has memorized her birthdate. I'm hopeful by then she'll be out of diapers (at least in the day time)!
