Clara is able to speak up to 9 word sentences. My favorite one recently is was quite sacrilegious.
Clara: "Jesus is coming again very soon!"
Me: "Really? Who told you so?"
Clara: "Santa Claus!!"
Speaking of, Clara was finally dedicated at church this past weekend (most little ones are dedicated when they're a year or younger, but she wasn't the oldest, there was a 4 year old being dedicated too!).
Clara can stack up to 13 blocks (I'd bet she can do more but that is all she can reach on her own). She enjoys puzzles, we purchased a nice Eric Carle set of 4 puzzles which are each 12 pieces and come in a sturdy wooden box. She names most of her colors (she has difficulty saying yellow but does recognize the color). She is looking forward to visiting her classmate from school later this week, a little boy named Benji (apparently he is the most popular kid in the class).
She seems quite capable sometimes of being potty trained when it comes to #1, but it seems she has to "feel like" wearing undies because some days she flat out refuses to wear undies, insisting she needs diapers. Not sure how much longer she should be allowed the "choice" but I'm still hoping by her 3rd birthday she'll be mostly potty trained (I don't expect her to stay dry overnight).
Clara went to the Meyerhoff to watch a symphony and came home stating she "wanted to learn to play the violin someday." The violin was my favorite instrument growing up so of course I'm excited she has interest in learning it. I think she is a little young for formal lessons (which typically require formal practice in between lessons) but it's something we'll keep in mind for the future.
She is a sweet girl who is growing up so quickly!
