She is still willing to eat just about anything but has a clear
preference for things that are sweet-tart (ie, blackberries,
cranberries, etc). She also likes salty things (today she found a bag
of black-bean tortilla chips laying around and in only a few minutes
managed to crunch through quite a bit!). Despite this, she seems to
be getting leaner and leaner (I guess from all the running around).
She loves taking a bath more than ever, often making a fuss when it's
time to get out (even though she resembles a raisin by the time we're
dragging her out). Her favorite bath toys are a pail and watering can
(technically meant as beach toys, but we're not sure if and when we'll
get to the beach this year).
Clara is always trying out new sounds, but no actual new words quite
yet. In the meanwhile, we've become quite adept at her point and
grunt routine. Occasionally she'll indicate she needs her diaper
changed, so we're hoping maybe, just maybe she'll be interested in
potty training sometime soon. (But I'm not getting my hopes up! In
the meanwhile will continue to try to rush through diaper changes
while she wriggles all about.) She loves "singing" to herself and
among her current favorites are "the itsy bitsy spider" and "if you're
happy and you know it."
Clara seems to prefer regular objects to her toys. We purchased a toy
stroller but instead she'd rather play with her actual stroller (she's
learned how to climb in and out by herself. She also enjoys the seat
buckles.) She prefers a real spoon to her toddler spoon and a water
bottle with a sports top to her sippy cups. I guess she's become a
big girl more and more every day!
Of course, what she doesn't realize is soon she really won't be the
"baby" as Jason and I are expecting in late December. But for now,
she gets all of our attention!
