Calem at 8 months

We find ourselves in the midst of sleeping training--again!  After a slow backwards slide of letting Calem fall asleep nursing, we've decided he needs to fall asleep on his own, in his own crib.  Part of this is based on my upcoming absence next weekend.  I'll be away for up to 2.5 days (the longest I've ever been physically away from either child), and we want to make it so that Calem will not be expecting something that isn't there! Plus, it's a long weekend (which most people want to enjoy but we figure, bring on the sleep deprivation!!)  Ferber, here we come.

Calem is now able to sit up on his own (still a little wobbly and often will end up on his tummy) but not get into that position on his own.  He is able to feed himself cheerios (the crude pincer grasp is slowly improving) at least 25% of his attempts to get them in his mouth are successful.  He loves to eat solids, and drink water out of a real cup (the little we let him have) and can use a real straw. He still enjoys nursing, but it's a little more challenging for me now that he has his bottom two teeth in (he forgets my one rule for him--- No biting!!!)

Calem's favorite activities include exploring new objects (especially any that belong to his sister), "reading" (or rather, tearing papers to bits), and watching home videos (of himself and Clara).
