Calem is now able to fall asleep on his own in his crib (as oppose to being nursed to sleep or bounced to sleep) BUT he wakes up around midnight wanting to eat a full meal. Then he wakes up again at 4 AM just wanting to comfort nurse. I have to be up by 6:15 so I usually just end up bringing him to bed which is where he wakes up again to eat at 6 AM (a real meal, not just comfort nursing) and goes back to sleep (still in our bed) until about 8 AM (so overall about 11 to 12 hours at night but with all the interruptions as mentioned). We are currently working on the Ferber method to have him self-soothe himself when he wakes up, including cutting out that midnight feeding as he should be old enough by now to go at least 8 hrs without eating.
Speaking of eating, he was introduced to solids when he turned 6 months old but was not a big fan at first (Jason posted some video of his reaction to food). Finally tonight he ate heartily, turns out he's a fan of carrots (and seemed to be asking for more after he finished the entire stage 1 container but I figured his eyes were bigger than his tummy (even then he spit up some of his food afterwards).
He is able to sit with support but does not sit on his own nor able to get into a sitting position on his own. He still loves to sit and kick his legs in his bouncy seat (amazing how useful a wire and piece of cloth can be), but has adjusted to eating meals in his Space Saver high chair.
Favorite activities include looking at himself in a mirror, watching his sister and trying to get her attention, laughing with his sister, and nursing.
Today was his first haircut (I figure he'll be needing his hair cut regularly so he may as well get use to it now), and he tolerated it very well.
